What we hold, and why.

This site

filedgroup.com sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from anyone else. The only thing you can send us through it is the unsubscribe form, which keeps the address you type so that we never write to it again.

If we emailed you

We write to business addresses an organisation publishes on its own website, about that organisation's work: backflow test reports, the deadlines an authority sets for them, and filing them. Canada's anti-spam law allows that when the address is conspicuously published and the message relates to the recipient's business role. We never buy lists, never use a registry or directory, and never guess an address.

What we keep about you: your name as your organisation publishes it, the business email address, the organisation, the page we found them on (and the sentence from it we quoted), the emails we sent, and any reply. We use it only to continue that conversation. We do not sell it or share it, and we do not use it to train models.

Every email names who we are and our postal address, and you can stop them at any time: reply with the word unsubscribe, or use filedgroup.com/unsubscribe. Either one puts the address on our do-not-email list at once, and every send checks that list first. We keep the address on that list, and nothing else about you, so that we never write again.

If you use a product

Accounts, test reports and payments happen on BackflowFiled, and its policy governs them: backflowfiled.com/privacy. It uses the same controller, the same retention and the same rights.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask for a copy, or ask us to delete it. Write to us and we will answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
